Question:

From McCleary, Washington, USA:

After reading about using Ultralente in small doses to possibly delay or prevent diabetes, I put myself on a mix of Regular and Ultralente once every other day. I have two cousins on my dad's side who have type 1 diabetes and a great-grandma on my mom's side who had type 1 diabetes. Does this put me at high risk?

Answer:

Your family history does not put you at high risk and certainly doesn't warrant taking insulin.
