Question:

From Manilla, Iowa, USA:

Should I give chromium to my daughter who has type 1 diabetes to regulate blood sugars and decrease insulin needs? I this not effective in type 1 as it is in type 2?

Answer:

I am not aware that chromium has any effect on blood glucose control. As far as I am aware it has no place in the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
