Question: From Odessa, Texas
I have had type 2 diabetes for six years, and now my 13 year old son has a cut on his head that hasn't healed for about seven weeks. Should I get him tested for diabetes?
Answer:
It is more likely that the cut is related to a local infection or normal wound healing rather than the possibility of diabetes. Having one wound that isn't healing properly is not one of the typical symptoms of diabetes.
