Question:

From Oxford, Mississippi, USA:

What would you say to a person with type 2 diabetes who would like to start taking colloidal minerals on a regular basis? Do you think this harmful or helpful? Is there any research being done at the current time?

Answer:

You do not say exactly what mineral products this person is proposing to take. Colloidal silver was at one time being widely promoted for a variety of conditions, but in 1999, the FDA declared that these over-the-counter products were no longer to be categorised as GRAS (Generally Recognised As Safe). There are no scientific reports that any colloidal mineral is of benefit in type 2 diabetes.
