Question:

From Colorado, USA:

I am 27 weeks pregnant., my preliminary glucose test indicated I have gestational diabetes, and I have scheduled my three-hour test this week. If I have gestational diabetes, does it mean my baby could have type 1 diabetes from childhood?

Answer:

Gestational diabetes is a pregnancy related condition. It does not mean that your child will have diabetes.
