Question:

From Springfield, Illinois, USA:

My six year old daughter has had type 1 diabetes for a year, and my eight month old son who is waiting test results for celiac disease. What are my three year old daughter's chances for inheriting an autoimmune disease?

Answer:

Although I'm not a geneticist, without further information, I would say somewhere between 6-10%.
