Question: From Scarborough, Ontario, Canada:
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in my seventh month of pregnancy and was asked to monitor my glucose level. What glucose level do I have to maintain?
Answer:
Ideally, your fasting blood sugar should be less than 90 mg/dl [5 mmol/L], and the value at one hour after eating should be less than 130 mg/dl [6.7 mmol/L] or 120 mg/dl [7.2 mmol/L] at two hours after a meal.
