Question: From Ohio, USA:
I found a website about transfer factor. What is your opinion of its value in treating diabetes?
Answer:
Children with type 1A (autoimmune) diabetes do indeed have a disorder of the immune system, but it has no relation to the 'resistance to infection' theme that transfer factor purports to benefit. There are absolutely no scientific reports to support the idea that this compound is of any value to children with diabetes, and in any case, it has not been investigated or approved by the FDA for any medical purpose.
