Question:

From the United Kingdom:

I have impaired glucose tolerance. Should I follow the same guidelines as for type 2 diabetes?

Answer:

Yes indeed, since impaired glucose tolerance may represent early diabetes. The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) and a trial in Finland have shown that the best way is to try to avoid becoming overweight through a proper diet and to adopt an active way of life increasing physical exercise.
