Question: From Portland, Oregon, USA:
My seven year old son seems to go to the bathroom three or four times in an hour from time to times, and when I checked his blood sugar with my meter, forty-five minutes after he had eaten a tuna sandwich, It was 109 mg/dl [ 6.1 mmol/L]. I have diabetes so want to make sure I catch it soon enough in case my son has it. What is your thought on this?
Answer:
109 mg/dl [ 6.1 mmol/L] is a normal blood sugar. I would suggest that you discuss your concerns about his frequent voiding with his pediatrician.
