Question: From Stirling,Scotland:
My son is constantly getting threadworms. We as a family treat this and are very hygiene conscious. Is there a link with threadworms and diabetes?
Answer:
Not that I know of. The cause is eating the eggs which are found in soil.
[Editor's comment: There is one recent speculation at PubMed about a role for worms: see A missing link in the hygiene hypothesis? WWQ]
