Question:

From Alford, Florida, USA:

My 16 year old son has always had a high blood protein level, but various checks of kidneys always show no problems. He also has a moderately severe acne problem and moderately severe mood swings (up or down) which seem to be related to time of day/meals. The mood swings can be a real trial to him and those around him. Could any of this be related to blood sugar problems?

Answer:

It is unlikely that an elevated protein level is related to diabetes or blood sugar problems.
