Question:

From North Carolina, USA:

My daughter is taking 10 units of NPH in the morning and 8 units of NPH in the evening. Is it unusual to take a similar amount for both doses?

Answer:

While typically the morning dose of intermediate-acting insulin is more than the evening dose, it certainly is variable among patients who have individual meal plans and activities.
