Question: From British Columbia, Canada:
I have type 1 diabetes, and I am wondering about adding oral medications to better control sugars and weight gain. Can metformin be taken in conjunction with insulin?
Answer:
There is probably very little to be gained by adding an oral hypoglycemic agent to your insulin treatment regimen. This is the case with metformin or other medications
