Question:

From Georgia, USA:

A young child in Georgia is in desperate need of funding for diabetes supplies. The parents' health insurance is catastrophic and drugs are not covered. Please advise as to where they can find help.

Answer:

The Children with Diabetes Foundation's Supplies for CWDF effort provides short-term assistance to families who are struggling to pay for needed diabetes supplies. In the long term, however, you will need to seek assistance from your local and state government agencies.

Additional comments from Dr. David Schwartz:

If the patient qualifies for Medicaid, there are a number of mail-in pharmacy companies that do a very good job with a variety of diabetes supplies.
