Question: From Dryden, Ontario, Canada: My husband went to the clinic here and they had him do a 24 hour urine test. His serum creatine is up to 13 mg/dl now. They're telling us it should be between one and two, so it is high. He has been a diabetic since birth. He will be 43 in July. Is he going into kidney failure? When should he start dialysis? He takes Novolin Toronto three times a day and NPH once a day. Answer: The level of creatine he is presenting with is very high. Hopefully, your doctors will be able to treat him and bring it down.
