Question: From Southfield, Michigan, USA:
It would appear that my blood sugars are lower when I am diligent about my water intake. Is there a relationship between blood sugars and water intake?
Answer:
Individuals who are being treated for diabetes are counseled to maintain plenty of fluids during the summer months. If one becomes dehydrated for any reason, the glucose can increase. However, at this time, I know of no relationship, other than the above, between water intake and diabetes.
