Question: From Austin, Texas, USA: How long can type 1 diabetes go unnoticed before being diagnosed? Answer: I suspect that it can go unnoticed for many months. Often the symptoms of diabetes are not easily recognized and are very gradual in onset which makes recognizing diabetes difficult sometimes.
