Question:

From Allen, Michigan, USA:

Has there been any research done on using a patch for administering insulin in place of an injection?

Answer:

No one has yet been able to figure out how to modulate the doses of insulin needed to provide meal time, snack time and then background (basal) insulin effects via a patch. There is lots of research, however, on many different ways of delivering insulin, all on-going.
