Question:

From Clio, South Carolina, USA:

Does my daughter have to leave the classroom to have her snack?

Answer:

The school may have rules about students eating in class. So, the best way to work within these rules is to have a 504 plan in place with the school which clearly mentions how hypoglycemia treatment and routine snacks are to be handled. You should have a discussion with the school nurse, teachers, and perhaps principal to come to an agreement about how to handle snacks.
