From Shelby, North Carolina, USA:
My daughter is 13 years old. In the last four months, we have noticed a lot of mood swings. Sometimes her blood sugars are good and sometimes they're not. Is this common?
Adolescents can be moody, whether they have diabetes or not. So, it is difficult to determine whether or not your daughter's moodiness is a result of being a teenager or a result of swings in her blood sugars. The best way to find out is to ask her what her thoughts are on the matter. Another option is to check her blood sugars more frequently and see if her moods are related to either higher numbers or lower numbers on a consistent basis.
