Question: From Shadyside, Ohio, USA: How common is it for siblings to have type 1 diabetes? I have two daughters who both have type 1. Answer: In a big pediatric/adolescent diabetes practice, this would be very variable, but approximately three to 10 such families per 500 kids with diabetes would be an estimate.
