Question:

From USA:

Can people with diabetes have children? My cousin has diabetes and said that, if the father has diabetes, you can't have children. Is this true?

Answer:

Adults with diabetes can and do have healthy children. For women with diabetes, it is best if the pregnancy is planned and blood sugars are kept in very tight control. Generally, when diabetes is in good control, it does NOT affect the ability to make a pregnancy or to have children.
