Question: From Elkins, West Virginia, USA:
My five year old daughter's hands break out with a red rash every time her sugar level rises above 250 mg/dl [13.9 mmol/L] and she complains of them hurting. Do you think this has anything to do with her diabetes, or is it some other condition not related? Basically, have you ever heard of this before?
Answer:
I doubt that this is due to her diabetes. I would suggest reviewing your concerns with your pediatrician.
