Question: From Justice, Illinois, USA: My granddaughter was just diagnosed with type 1 six days ago. We are working with her doctor on a daily basis to get her blood sugar down. About how long does it take before she has blood sugar is within the normal ranges? Answer: It mostly depends on the insulin scheme that is applied to the child, but with the new insulins, not generally longer than few weeks.
