Question: From Belgium:
I have looking for information about a new drug "sucanon," which is available only in Mexico. Is this a good product for someone with type 2 diabetes? Can it be bought without a prescription?
Answer:
Apparently it is available over the counter in Mexico. I am not aware of any large trials to test its efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes. I would not make any recommendations about its efficacy until there are trials to demonstrate it.
