Question:

From Jackson, Minnesota, USA:

Can you use insulin pens and/or insulin pumps in children under 10 years old? Can they be used by a four year old?

Answer:

Insulin pumps can be used very successfully in children less than 10 years old. They are sometimes even used on toddlers. Your pediatric diabetes team should have information for you if they are comfortable using pumps in this age group.
