From London, England:
If a person, diabetic or not, is dehydrated and has darker than normal urine, can the colour of the urine affect the colour of the strip, when testing for urine ketones or urine glucose, giving false results?
The best way to measure ketones and glucose is the blood. The Precision Xtra meter has special strips to measure ketones. This way dehydration and obtaining a specimen will no longer be a factor. There are many Blood Glucose Meters available for blood glucose testing.
