Question:

From West Newbury, Massachusetts, USA:

My son complains of his tongue feeling hot. I read an article a few months ago regarding this reaction. Since he only complains of this when his blood sugar is over 120 mg/dl [6.7 mmol/L], is there any link between this and his diabetes? I am looking for a second opinion.

Answer:

I've been treating patients with diabetes for 30 years and no one has ever mentioned this.
