Question: From El Centro, California, USA: It seems that whenever the house temperature is too low, my son's blood sugar level tends to drop. Is it possible or am I just assuming it? Why does he seems not to be able to move his arm or leg when his body is cold? Answer: Minor changes in a house temperature should not dramatically affect blood sugars. Certainly, seasonal changes outside for a child that spends a lot of time outdoors can affect blood sugars (less insulin may be required if a child is very active in hot weather).
