Question:

From Clackamas, Oregon, USA:

My grandson has migraine headaches. The cause has not been determined. His doctors are not sure of any connection to his diabetes. Are you aware of any connection between migraines and diabetes?

Answer:

I am not aware of any distinct link (cause and effect) between migraine headaches and type 1 diabetes. One would want to be certain that the migraine headaches are not "triggered" by a low glucose reaction (hypoglycemia).
