Question: From Elkins, West Virginia, USA: Is Byetta approved for type 1 diabetes, since they suspect that it may cause the pancreas to regenerate/repair cells? I understood that is the way it works. Answer: I don't think anyone expects Byetta to promote beta cell regeneration. It is currently approved for type 2 diabetes and not at all approved or significantly studied in kids.
