Question: From New York, USA: Does the red Glucagon Emergency Kit need to be stored in the refrigerator? I always thought room temperature was fine. Do lancets expire? What about ketone strips once the vial has been opened? Is CWD given financial support by pump companies? Answer: Glucagon does not need to be refrigerated. Lancets don't expire if unused. Urine ketone strips in a vial expire 90 days after the vial has been opened. Almost all major diabetes companies who are involved in type 1 diabetes either advertise on the CWD web site or participate in CWD conferences, so, yes, CWD receives financial support from insulin pump companies.
