Why aren't insulin pump supplies, sets, reservoirs, inserters available at pharmacies? This would provide more convenient access for patients and result in better care, especially when away and something fails.
Retail pharmacy products are typically paid for by prescription benefits or cash. Pump supplies are typically covered by the durable medical equipment part of health insurance. This difference is important and helps to explain why pump supplies are not generally available at local pharmacies.
