Question:

From Pakistan:

Can I take sorbitol instead of Canderel? Does sorbitol have any side effects?

Answer:

You may substitute sorbitol for Canderel, but beware of the possible side effect of certain sugar alcohols such as sorbitol. In excessive amounts, they may cause diarrhea or bloating. I would suggest you go slowly with incorporating foods with these sugar alcohols into your meal planning.
