Question:

From Michigan, USA:

Why do kids wet the bed after they've had diabetes for several months?

Answer:

If a child is newly wetting the bed, it is possible that they have a urinary tract infection or other problem. A child with diabetes may sometimes wet the bed if his or her glucose is very high or if they have a low during the night. It would be important to work with the child's healthcare provider to find the cause and the appropriate treatment. I would not just assume that bedwetting is due to diabetes.
