Question:

From Miami, Florida, USA:

Last week, I had a glucose tolerance test and I have gotten the results. I started out at 58 mg/dl [3.2 mmol/L], then my sugar went up to 62 mg/dl [3.4 mmol/L]. Finally, my blood sugar was 54 mg/dl [3.0 mmol/L]. Why did this happen? What do I need to do next? My primary doctor does not know the answer.

Answer:

Your blood sugars are in a low and narrow range. If you are asymptomatic, I would not worry about it. This may be normal for you.
