Question:

From Glendale, New York, USA:

How promising is human proislet peptide (HIP) as a possible treatment for type 1 diabetes?

Answer:

Human proislet peptide is an experimental chemical designed to stimulate pancreas cells. It is much too early to know if it will work reliably and safely, but the initial research is extremely interesting.
