Michelle Hansen, MS, RD, CDE, is the senior dietitian at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver. Although she works with both adults and children with Type 1 diabetes, she spends most of her time in the adult clinic now. However, a fondness for families and children persists. She is past president of the Colorado Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group and has experience working with infant, children and pregnant women in a community health program.

Her undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic. Michelle's Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition came from Colorado State University.

Recently, Michelle completed a research project on athletes with Type 1 diabetes and three video tapes on Carbohydrate Counting. In her free time she enjoys skiing, rollerblading and cycling with her family and playing with her two dogs.
