Lois Schmidt Finney is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. She has had type 1 diabetes since age 10 so brings expertise in actually living with diabetes and its challenges into her answers. She has worked on numerous diabetes teams, authored articles and chapters of book on diabetes, and coordinated diabetes studies, including currently coordinating Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Studies at the University of Minnesota (yah sure, yah betcha).

Lois has two children, ages 23 and 22, two stepchildren and one exchange student that has lived with her family for two years. She loves hiking, biking, running, spending time in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, reading, and cooking/baking (she is a dietitian!).
