Ms. Virginia Valentine is employed by Marketplace Technology, a healthcare consulting firm. Ms. Valentine provides educational program/media development consultation and technical assistance for outcomes improvement for patients with diabetes. Clients include public and private health care agencies as well as the pharmaceutical industry, such as: Eli Lilly and Company, Indian Health Service Diabetes Program, Centers for Disease Control-Division of Diabetes Translation, Diabetes Control Program for New Mexico Dept of Health and Okla. Dept of Health. Ms. Valentine serves as Clinical Associate Faculty at the University of New Mexico College of Nursing, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Virginia is a certified diabetes educator with over 15 years of experience in diabetes education and program development in the areas of public health, acute care, and ambulatory care. Ms. Valentine is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with recent past experience establishing a Diabetes Case Management and diabetes disease management service for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She is a past president of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) New Mexico Affiliate, and she currently serves on the New Mexico Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Advisory Committee, the New Mexico Diabetes Advisory Council, and on the New Mexico Council of Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Ms. Valentine completed a Bachelors of Science in nursing degree in 1975 from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma and received her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, Oklahoma City, OK.
