Delaine M. Wright, MS, CDE is a nationally certified diabetes educator and a clinical exercise physiologist who received her masters degree from the University of Rhode Island and her undergraduate degree from Boston University. She works as team leader/program coordinator for the Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Prevention, and Wellness Programs at South County Hospital in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Her experience in diabetes management and diabetes education is both professional and personal, as she is living with Type 1 diabetes (17 years duration) herself. She currently manages her own diabetes via an insulin pump. In addition to hospital based outpatient education, Delaine does a great deal of diabetes-related patient education and support via the Internet.
She is a professional member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the International Diabetic Athletes Association, the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
