The Diabetes Team believes in an empowerment model of diabetes care and education, while stressing the importance of self-care and health promotion. We believe in a team approach to diabetes care for kids or other people with diabetes and their families, with the child and family being the most important members of their own Diabetes Team.
We are currently seeking applicants for the following positions:
- Counselor/Social Worker/Psychologist, 5 or more years pediatric diabetes experience, PhD, MSW, or equivalent, CDE highly desirable. To answer occasional questions from the readers, and participate in group discussions among the members of the Diabetes Team in developing consensus answers to other questions as desired.
Routine access to Internet e-mail and the World Wide Web is required.
These are volunteer positions; the only pay is the satisfaction of reading the appreciative replies from parents and kids who have learned more about themselves.
