Since 1981, LifeScan has been committed to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes. LifeScan revolutionized home blood glucose testing with the introduction of the ONE TOUCH® System in 1987. By eliminating cumbersome wiping and timing procedures, ONE TOUCH technology made testing fast, easy and accurate for the first time. LifeScan systems are recommended by more physicians, diabetes educators and pharmacists than any other brand. Every day, more than two million people with diabetes rely on LifeScan systems for simple testing and accurate results.

The leading maker of blood glucose meters for both home and hospital use, LifeScan joined the Johnson & Johnson family of companies in November 1986. Headquartered in Milpitas, CA, LifeScan employs more than 2500 people worldwide.

The The ONE TOUCH® Ultra Meter was designed for less pain, less blood and less bother. It has a fast time test (5 seconds), requires a small blood sample (1 microliter), and offers a wide temperature range (43 - 111 degrees F, 6 - 44 degrees C). The system also features: 150-test memory, and automatic averaging. When used with the ONE TOUCH UltraSoft Blood Sampler, FinePoint Lancets and the ONE TOUCH Ultra Test Strips, the ONE TOUCH Ultra offers the choice of less painful arm testing to give sensitive fingers a break.   Ultra

The ONE TOUCH FastTakeTM Compact Blood Glucose Monitoring System is designed especially to fit the needs of active people with diabetes, including the United States' 5 million baby boomers with the disease. With its unique, compact styling, the FastTake Meter fits naturally into the palm of the hand, requires a very small blood drop (1.5 microliters), and has a 15-second test time. It allows active people to conveniently and discretely test their blood glucose anywhere, anytime. The system also features: 150-test memory with date and time to make record keeping easy; automatic 14-day averaging of test results to help spot trends; automatic warning to check for ketones when results are between 240 and 600 mg/dL; and the meter's memory can be downloaded to a personal computer running IN TOUCHTM Diabetes Management Software for detailed analysis.   FastTake

The ONE TOUCH® ProfileTM Diabetes Tracking System is the full-featured system for people actively involved in managing their diabetes. Using proven ONE TOUCH technology, it combines simple testing with the key information diabetes patients and their healthcare professionals need to help manage their diabetes. With three simple steps, accurate results are provided in just 45 seconds. Based on test results, the ONE TOUCH Profile System provides special messages to alert users to conditions that may require action. It automatically stores up to 250 test results with date and time and can record insulin and carbohydrate information, label test results by activity and calculate a variety of test result averages. It is compatible with the IN TOUCHTM Diabetes Management Software to provide in-depth reports and diabetes education.   ONE TOUCH PROFILE

The SureStep® Blood Glucose Monitoring System is specifically designed to make self-monitoring easy for the millions of people with diabetes who have difficulty testing their blood glucose because they suffer from a wide range of physical limitations, or are newly diagnosed and are inexperienced testers. The SureStep Test Strip actually forgives poor technique by providing maximum flexibility in blood application. A person with limited dexterity caused by arthritis, tremors or other factors can easily apply blood to the absorbent test strip without fear of ruining the test. Because the test strip stays dry to the touch it also helps keep the system clean. In addition, the SureStep Test Strip is the only strip with a blue dot that confirms, before the test, that enough blood has been applied. This minimizes wasted strips while building user confidence in their technique and test result. The meter's large display with bold characters is easy to see for people with vision problems. Test results are provided in as little as 15 seconds. The meter also stores up to 10 test results to make logbook updates easy.   SureStep

The ONE TOUCH® BASIC® is a value-priced meter for people who just want an accurate test result quickly and simply. With three simple steps and 45 seconds to accurate results, it offers the essence of ONE TOUCH simplicity. Prompts are available in English and Spanish and the last test result is displayed when the meter is turned on. It notifies the user when the meter must be cleaned and detects most errors in blood sample application.   ONE TOUCH BASIC

The IN TOUCHTM Diabetes Management Software is the first diabetes software to combine comprehensive data analysis and diabetes education in an easy-to-use WindowsTM-based program. The software takes information stored in the ONE TOUCH Profile (and earlier ONE TOUCH II) System and automatically creates in-depth reports - helping people with diabetes and their healthcare professionals spot trends, chart test results, and evaluate progress against goals. Ten standard reports are available and custom reports can also be created. A diabetes education module offers interactive quizzes, health tips and system instructions for LifeScan monitoring systems.   IN TOUCH
