Camp Director for Joslin Diabetes Camp
Joslin Diabetes Center Camp/Retreat Programs, Charlton and Plymouth, Ma. Private, residential, non-profit, summer camp for children with diabetes ages 7-18.
Co-ed Programs include: Winter Camp, Wilderness Leadership, Counselor-In -Training Leadership Program, Intensive Management Retreats, and Retreat Support Programs during the school year.
Responsibilities include: Program Coordination and development, camper/staff recruitment, staff supervision and development, marketing, budgets, etc.
Requirements for the position: College degree with 3 years camp/management experience necessary, diabetes knowledge preferable.
Starting: December 1, 2004
The Camp Director is an integral member of the Joslin Diabetes Center's team. During the summer, a week long Winter Camp and during several weekend retreats during the year, the Camp Director will live on site.
When the camp programs are not in session, the Camp Director will organize and coordinate programs, hire/recruit staff and recruit campers and families etc. The Director will interact with young people and their families both in the hospital and outpatient services. We also share some research activity with Harvard Medical School.
