		I have had diabetes for almost four years. I like skating, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, riding my bike and playing tennis. I just started second grade. My favorite football team is the San Francisco 49ers. I live in a small town. My dad says I can meet other kids. Yours truly, Charley
		In August 2000, Charlie wrote this poem for a school assignment. I Am I am a diabetic boy and I like football I wonder if there will ever be a cure for diabetes. I hear a singing pig. I see the Alamo I want to be a football player I am a diabetic boy and I like football I pretend I am a pro football player I feel a long King Snake I touch a fuzzy bat I worry about my blood sugar I cry about my very best friend I am a diabetic boy and I like football I understand my desease I say everyone should be treated equally I dream about becoming a sports star I try hard at my school work I hope I get into a good college I am a diabetic boy and I like football
