Hi. My name is Kayla Edwards. I am 6 years old. My doctor told me on
August 20, 1997, that I have juvenile diabetes. My mom thought I had a
bladder infection, so she took a urine sample to the clinic. They
called and wanted to see me right away. Sure enough, my blood sugar
count was 407. The next day, I had to go to a big hospital a long way
from home. That's where they showed my Mom and Dad how to take special
care of me. I just started first grade this year. I love to play
Barbies and draw. I like to play with baby dolls. Pretty much, I am just
a normal kid. I have a brother in 4th grade and a baby sister who just
turned one. I would love to hear from anyone who enjoys writing.
