Hi! My name is Mary Katherine McDaniel and I live in the USA. I was born August 1st, 1995 and I was diagnosed in October of 1998. I have Type 1 diabetes. Diabetes doesn't run in my family, so we were quite surprised when I got it.

I suppose I have gotten used to the shots every day and the constant sugar checks. This has changed my family's way of living completely.

I have two sisters, Ashley and Alex. Since Ashley lives farther away than us, I am very close to Alex. She helps me with everything, and she has even made a website for Children With Diabetes at http://www.angelfire.com/ar/diabetes.
