  Back to Kids' Voices Keondra
Hi my name is Keondra. I was diagnosed with diabetes on February 7, 1999. When I realized how serious and what all it entailed I was very upset. I am still very upset with it but I try to cope with it. I take two shots a day and monitor my blood four times a day. My mom has been really supportive as well as the rest of my family and friends which makes things easier. My mom says we will go through this together and allows me to give her injections (saline water) and test her blood.

I am 11 years old. I live in New York City and I am in the 5th grade. I love to read, sing, dance, poetry. I attend dance and drama classes and plan to go to diabetes camp this summer. Hope to see you there.

You can e-mail me at Prendt_Morant@loewscpx.com.
