Hi, my name is Sara Taha. I am 5 years old (but I'll be 6 in July). I was diagnosed with diabetes August 1997. I was visiting the bathroom a lot, drinking water all the time I was very tierd. I lost weight too. My mom was very worried and she knew that something wrong with me. She took me to the hospital. They took blood and did a urine test. My sugar was 500, and that meant that T have diabetes. Oh, it was a horrible day.
My mom cried a lot. She was very upset. She called my dad, who was overseas, and she told him the bad news and they both cried a lot. Anyway, I stayed in the hospital for five days until we learned every thing about diabetes and how to take shots. I check my sugar by myself and I know how to read the numbers. I want to take my shot by myself but my mom said I am too young for this.
I love to read, swim and I love to walk. I have a brother who is 23 months old. I would love to get e-mail from other children with diabetes. My e-mail address is HishamT@prodigy.net.
